Why the Conditioner for Curly Hair is the secret to soft curls

The conditioner for curly hair is not an optional step — it is the most critical stage after washing. Curly hair loses moisture much faster than straight hair due to the structure of the curl. Without the right conditioner, curls become dry, break easily, and frizz.

At Get The Curl, we have two types: the rinse-out conditioner which is applied after the shampoo and rinsed out, and the leave-in conditioner which stays in the hair for continuous hydration and protection throughout the day. Both are CG-Method approved, free from silicones or sulfates.

Rinse-out or Leave-in? Which conditioner suits you

The rinse-out conditioner closes the hair cuticle after washing and makes detangling with fingers easier (finger detangling). The leave-in conditioner is applied to wet hair before styling and acts as the first layer of hydration — it forms the base for the LOC/LCO method. For a complete curl routine, you need both.

  • Rinse-out & leave-in conditioners - two types for every need
  • Ideal for 'squish to condish' technique and finger detangling
  • Free from silicones, sulfates & parabens - CG-Method approved
  • Ideal combination with sulfate-free shampoo & moisturizing mask

Frequently Asked Questions

The rinse-out conditioner is applied after the shampoo and rinsed out in the shower — provides immediate hydration and makes detangling easier. The leave-in conditioner applied to wet hair and lasts until the next wash — offers continuous protection and is the base for styling. Ideally, you use both.
Yes, every wash — this is the absolute non-negotiable for curly hair. On days when you do co-wash (without shampoo), the conditioner completely replaces the wash. Only once a week replace the rinse-out conditioner with deep hydration mask.
It is the technique of applying rinse-out conditioner specifically for curly hair: with wet hair, you apply the conditioner and "squish" the curls upwards with your palms while water is still running. This way, the conditioner penetrates deep into the curl along with the water, providing maximum hydration and definition.
Yes — it is a technique ideal for curly hair. In co-wash (conditioner-only washing), you skip the shampoo and clean only with conditioner. Between regular washes, co-wash maintains moisture and refreshes curls without dehydrating them.
On wet hair, immediately after the shower and before any styling product. Apply from the mid-lengths to the ends (not at the roots to avoid weighing them down), comb through with a wide-tooth comb and continue with curl cream or gel. The leave-in is the first layer in the LOC/LCO method.
Absolutely — all GTC products are designed to work harmoniously. Complete routine: shampoo → rinse-out conditioner → mask (1×/week) → leave-in conditioner → styling gel/cream. Ready combination with a discount on GTC Kits.
